Christmas Pageant Santa Claus street parade in Bunbury was a great celebration of Christmas season as expected. Great kick-off of Christmas season in the city of Bunbury. This year a slightly different since every previous year Christmas Pageant finished with Christmas Carol concert. The city of Bunbury decided to prevent big crowds and split event for 2 separate events. The Christmas Carols Concert, which takes place on Sunday 13 December 2020 12 pm – 6 pm. Christmas in the City Festival and The Apprentice and Traineeship Company Carols Concert.
Due to COVID-19 regulation from 5th of December 2020, the social distancing measures, SafeWA app registration has been implemented for 2020 Christmas Pageant Santa Clause Street Parade and Christmas in the City Street Parade held as a stand-alone event on Sunday 6 December.

The Parade commenced at 5.30 pm the organisers encouraged spectators to arrive early to find a spot along with the 1.68 km long Christmas pageant street parade trail. All around the place were banners with QR code for people to scan SafeWA app to register their attendance at the event.
We are excited to invite the local groups, clubs, organisations to show off their festively decorated floats in just two weeks! Please see below map for the route and practice physical distancing wherever possible when you are choosing the perfect place to watch the floats pass by.
This Year Christmas Pageant Street parade Santa Claus attracted the highest attendance in history ever. It caused that Alinta Christmas pageant sold-out running in limited edition. Many cars were heading from Perth, Rockingham, Mandurah to Bunbury to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere, see the Christmas Pageant street parade, entertainment and Santa Clause. This event was not required to register tickets to attend. Bunbury rocks! I hope you enjoyed the celebration! Don’t forget Christmas Carols Concert takes place on Sunday 13 December 2020. Santa Claus is said to make lists of children throughout the world and especially from Bunbury. He categorizes them according to their behaviour. He then sets out to deliver presents, including toys and candy, to all of the well-behaved children in Bunbury. Misbehaving children receive coal on the night of Christmas Eve. Santa Claus is said to accomplish this feat with the aid of his elves, who make the toys in his workshop at the North Pole. Santa Claus’s flying reindeer and the sleigh was replaced by fancy fuel-powered red veteran vintage car. The reason behind was to keep reindeer’s resting after a long trip from Finland polar circle.

Covid Safe Christmas Pageant Street Parade Bunbury no violation found
No violation of Covid Safe regulation was reported during and after the event. Members of the City of Bunbury were approaching crowd to scan the QR code for SafeWA app to register their attendance at Christmas Pageant. Every restaurant in the city had QR code displayed for SAfeWA app and attendance list with a pen in place. Well done Covid Safe and well organised.

We recommend downloading the SafeWA app before arriving as we will be encouraging attendees to swipe in their attendance.

The City of Bunbury endorsed all business to be sure to comply with “mandatory contact register” from 5th of December
Saturday 5 December, all City of Bunbury facilities will be required to maintain a mandatory contact register for staff and patrons in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The reintroduction of contact registers is an additional protection measure and will assist the WA Department of Health with contact tracing, should it be required.
