The annual Christmas celebration combines the street parade, festival and carols concert. Held on the second Sunday in December each year, Christmas in the City invites the Bunbury-Geographe community to celebrate the festive season. It features free activities and entertainment for the whole family. Participants line the streets of the CBD to watch the RAC Street Parade pass by from 5.30 pm, then make their way to Graham Bricknell Music Shell to sing along to Christmas carols at The Apprentice and Traineeship Company Carols Concert from 7 pm.

Food and Market Stalls

RAC Street Parade Christmas Pageant Bunbury

The Christmas in the City Street Parade begins at 5.30 pm from the Bunbury Recreation Ground and winds through the streets of the CBD, before ending near the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre. There will be road closures in place to accommodate this.
Beginning from the Bunbury Recreation Ground (BRG) at 5.30 pm, the parade will travel through the CBD before finishing at about 6.45 pm on Blair Street opposite the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre
Road closures will be in place for the RAC Street Parade from 3 pm until 7 pm as detailed to the right. The RAC Street Parade map can be viewed here.

Road Closures
Please be advised that a number of road closures will be in place for the RAC Street Parade and along Blair Street for the Christmas in the City event.

The following road closures apply during the RAC Street Parade:
Blair St – between Stirling St and Clifton St/Koombana Dr
Victoria St – between Prinsept St and Carey St, Prinsep St – between Victoria St and Blair St,
Wellington St – between Victoria St and Haley St
Symmons St – between Victoria St and Blair St
Symmons St – between Marlston Dr and Molloy St
Ivey St – between Molloy St and Bunbury Recreation Ground
Wittenoom St – between Symmons St and Carey St
Molloy St – between Symmons St and Clifton St
Eliot St – between Victoria St and Wittenoom St
Blair Street will be closed between Symmons Street and Haley Street from 12noon until 9.30 pm.

Community Candle Competition

Applications for community groups to apply to be included in the Community Candle Competition will be open closer to the event date. To be notified when the competition opens, please email events@bunbury.wa.gov.au with the subject of Community Candle Competition Enquiry and ask to be sent an application form once the competition officially opens.

RAC Rescue Experience (3-5pm)
Christmas Fairies (5-8pm)
Christmas Sand Art craft activity (3-8pm)
Inflatable Snow Dome (3-8pm)
Christmas Mini Golf (3-8pm)
Bouncy Castles (3-8pm)
Petting Zoo (3-8pm)
Face Painting (3-8pm)
Wollaston Lions Train (3-6 pm approx. and then after the RAC Street Parade has passed) has a small cost applied due to this being a fundraising venture for the club.

The Apprentice and Traineeship Company Carols Concert
The Apprentice and Traineeship Company Carols Concert kicks off from 7 pm at the Graham Bricknell with a selection of some of the best bands, choirs and musicians from Bunbury-Geographe. Co-ordinated by Always Goodnights, people are encouraged to sit back and enjoy the Christmas songs and carols as the sunsets.​​
