Mark McGowan the prime minister of Western Australia expects West Australians will react very positive on their first visit to WA Museum Boola Bardip. It is spectacular the biggest Museum in Southern hemisphere. The $400 million attraction opens today, six-and-half years after its striking design was unveiled by Mr McGowan’s predecessor, former WA premier Colin Barnett.
The WA Museum is an educational, entertaining, interesting, meaningful and architecturally brilliant masterpiece in Western Australia.

It integrates old buildings with the new spectacular architecture of 21 century, the displays are so interesting.
Today is the day for WA Museum Boola Bardip officially opens its door to the public. The WA government has spent four years and over $400 million to develop this world-class museum. With its stunning architecture and amazing collections and exhibitions, the new museum is undoubtedly a new proud landmark for WA. The internal space is designed to include everyone, all entry points have universal access, six public lifts to reach every level and resting areas on every floor.
Boola Bardip means many stories in Whadjuk Nyoongar; the Country on which the museum sits. The museum has 8 permanent exhibition halls and 1 short-term exhibition hall, plus some educational workshops, retail shops and cafes, etc.
In one of the halls called “Reflections”, you will find the very original Chung Wah banner which was made by early Chinese migrants back in 1911 when the Chung Wah Association building was first established. This beautiful and colourful handcrafted banner was used in celebration and cultural events for many years and now on display proudly amongst other important artefacts of Western Australia.
There are so much more to see, and the museum is going to offer 18 months of free entry to the general public. So please book your free tickets in advance and be part of the “many stories”.

I think it’ll be one of Australia’s great public buildings and one of the world’s great museums. I think will be seen that way.
The Premier paid credit to the architects, contractors and curators who had worked to complete the project in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is three times the size of the old museum and includes eight permanent galleries, a 1000sqm temporary exhibition gallery, shop and cafe.
The museum is free for visitors for at least the first 18 months and it will remain free for children aged under 15.
All entry tickets for the opening celebration, from today to November 29, have been allocated to the successful ballot entrants.
The world-class Museum biggest in Southern Hemisphere. The museum will display the culture of many nations living in Western Australia.
