is a Japanese Okinawan martial arts focused on weapons training was developed on the Okinawan islands of Japan. Ryukyu Kobudo is a hand-weapon art that finds its origins in the ancient Ryukyu Islands Okinawa. It makes use of a variety of long and short weapons, typically including the bo also known as kon, sai iron fork, tonfa millstone handle, nunchaku horse bridle, and nicho kama two sickles.

Perth Japan Festival is a cultural event to held every summer (around February or March) in Perth since 2013. A cultural event to promote friendship between Japan and Perth. Includes Japanese food stalls, small goods, and exhibits of cultural information. Stage events include Japanese martial arts, music and pop culture.
